The
Summit School of Guitar Building & Repair proudly offers professional training
in guitar construction and repairs, tailored to the individual goals of each
student.
Our school opened its’ doors in 1989. We felt a need for training in this
highly specialized field that requires a one–to–one approach. Our training is
oriented toward our students reaching their full potential. Our goal is to
provide the skills and knowledge they will need to make this a career. To even
further this goal we have introduced the one year master program which
includes an optional one month work experience in
Sweden.
By maintaining communication with manufacturers, private builders and music
stores, we are able to assist students in pursuing their goals for employment.
Many of our students go on to start their own business.
Larger schools often lack the student to teacher ratio we feel is so critical,
and builders or repair shops are often reluctant to take on unskilled
employees. So, while through the years our school has grown, we still maintain
a low student/teacher ratio. Enrolment is limited. We operate on a first come
basis.
No prerequisites are required.
Summit School is registered with the
Private Career Training Institutions
Agency of British Columbia.
We truly believe our success lies in our students’ success. Whether you are
looking for instruction for future livelihood, providing training
opportunities for music store staff, or you simply want a unique, relaxing yet
productive sabbatical, we have a course to suit your needs.
